Alerts caregivers remotely during a nocturnal seizure

NightWatch will alert caregivers by transmitting a wireless signal from the wearer’s armband to the linked base station when a seizure occurs during sleep.

Detecting 9 out of 10 clinically urgent seizures in their early stages, NightWatch provides caregivers critical time to arrange appropriate help and medical attention for the wearer.

NightWatch can be used in a variety of settings and works straight out of the box, so there’s no fiddly configuration.

When the armband module detects acute changes in heart rate or motion of the wearer, it will send an alert to the base station, setting off an audible alarm.

Clinical validation of NightWatch

NightWatch was successfully tested over thousands of nights by the SEIN and Kempenhaeghe epilepsy centres and found to be significantly better than the alternative methods available. This wearable device has been shown to detect up to 96% of the most dangerous seizures.

NightWatch Portal

NightWatch can be connected to an online portal which stores valuable insights into heart rate and motion data. This can be viewed by your neurologist, consultant or nurse. It’ll allow you to keep a track on any patterns which may be occurring. It will also illustrate the intensity and length of your seizures.

Who can use the NightWatch?

NightWatch is intended for patients, parents/caregivers and care professionals. It is suitable for anyone over the age of 4.

What seizure types does NightWatch detect?

NightWatch detects various types of seizures including tonic, hyper motor, nocturnal, clustered myoclonic and tonic-clonic seizures.

What does NightWatch do?

NightWatch closely monitors heart rate and motion while the wearer is lying in bed or asleep. If a potentially severe seizure is detected, the armband sends a signal to the base station to notify caregivers.

What is the range between the arm band module and the base station?

Make sure the distance between the base station and the armband is no more than 10 meters. The range can be lower in buildings with concrete and braided steel structures.

What does the NightWatch Portal do?

The NightWatch Portal records and reads the heart rate and motion measurements, which can be used by health professionals and caregivers to gain a better understanding of any patterns associated with the seizures.

Who should download the NightWatch portal?

This can be downloaded by patients, parents or caregivers. You'll need to connect the base station to the internet via an ethernet cable to ensure the data is recorded.
