The Companion Mini is the small, smart, and sensitive unit that can alert the caregiver to an increase in repetitive movement associated with tonic-clonic seizures. It’s small, but it’s tough and it’s completely cable-free.

The Companion Mini is the user-friendly epilepsy alarm designed to be discreetly used at home. The Companion Mini is able to identify tonic-clonic seizure-induced movements whilst ignoring sleep activities.

If a potential seizure is detected, the Companion Mini will send an alert to the included pager, which has a 450m range. It’s completely wireless and can be easily moved to take with you for nights away or on holiday.

Positioning and Testing



The Companion Mini is easy to install and very simple to test.

The device performs best if placed under the mattress, beneath the patients torso area. Due to the wide variety of bed types and mattresses, it is advisable to test the device as per the instructions below:

1. Place the device on the bed-frame base, positioned beneath the part of the mattress where movement occurs.
2. Test the device operation by simulating the movement that needs to be detected.

*To improve alarm detection or to reduce false alarms, the Companion Mini’s alarm parameters can be adjusted using the Alert-iT Profile Editor software which is available to download for free from the Alert-iT support page.
